I went with MKTurbo for the cost efficiency and easy button-ness. It was my first time going turbo and I didn't want to fumble with sourcing a turbo and other odds and ends. I'm loving it so far at 8psi. I know I'll want more eventually (soon) though..

This looks like it would be a replacement for the MK churbo after boredom sets in. Although, it is EFR money but apparently without the need to change anything else really.

Oh yea that would for sure work. Same turbo I have just in a T3 hotside with a ford 5 bolt outlet. If you arent running a 6258 and you want the closest thing to what that turbo provides I dont see a better option than the GTX2860 GenII.

Thats my latest run, added one pound of boost picked up about 10hp.

ATP has a few t3 housings for some T25 turbo's that work. I know 2 or 3 customers that have switched over the years. The big problem I have with going that route is cost of the Garrett verse the cost of an EFR. It is hard for me to recommend spending EFR money and not getting an EFR. I really need to just get my EFR down pipe done and a JIG made so I can just offer those to people who want them.

Interesting, I appreciate the link. If it wasn't EFR money, I'd definitely consider it when the want need to upgrade comes.

I agree with you but it's nice to see an option for EFR-ish results in T28 and apparently T3, though. The cost of an EFR+manifold+DP is much more that just this turbo alone. That being said, I will happily wait in line for an EFR manifold and downpipe from you.

If you just want cheap top end there are a few ebay t3's that can get you to 350whp for less then $200. With the EFR and the GTX you are really paying a ton for mid range and spool. The thing is once you decide you want more power then the stock motor will take, costs go up exponentially.

Outside of the US, EFR pricing is completely different - an EFR6258 is $750 more expensive than the equivalent GTX2860R gen II, and about $150 more than the G25-550...

That is true. No idea for why on the wide differences on prices.

If you are at wide open throttle below 4000 RPM you should have downshifted. Or you have decided you can stand to wait.

I agree when I am driving spiritedly I'm always at 4000rpm at least. The 2860 spools pretty much instantly when you are at 4000+

Good video comparing EFR and Garrett. Same people also have a good video of a BoshiWheel G25 copy that is failboat.
