Well it's VERY impressive. Like I said you have the wheels turning in my brain. How was driveabilty effected. Was the car any more sluggish or was their a noticeable loss of low end torque or power? Or was it fairly similar in the low end with just more pull up top?
I have a 2000 so I have no VICS setup, that being the case would I not have to do some filler welding if I was to port a 1999-2000 manifold in your estimate if I was to continue using the EGR?
How much lighter is the complete(upper and lower) manifold now?

You were misinformed.

99-00's had VICS

01-05's had no VICS, but they had some other little set of butterflies, but they were not VICS, but rather a choke to enhance cold start. Once the engine warms up they open and are merely an obstruction, hurting power, and definitely not helping. So VICS is the preferred stock intake manifold. But a gutted out vics manifold may prove to make more hp.

 

OK I see you are right, I just did some quick research. It's the Variable valves that I was thinking of on the 2001 and newer cars. So that means I would have to have welding done to fill those VICS holes...

Maybe I will just see what the new Begi manifold will retail far...

so Jay, did you call Dyno Dynamics yet and ask them what effect would going from 100@120 to 100@150 would do?

 

I haven't heard anything back from them yet. I have left a couple of messages on their tech support voice mail. I talked with the guy who owns the dyno and he said it would make a difference, but wasn't sure on how much. I might just take the car to some place with a dynojet and see what it can do.
