Default hustler's dyno thread

10psi or so, I ran out of fuel

I'm putting in a new fuel pump and I'll have real #'s soon.

yeah, I know. I'm happy I went with the lower compression pistons now, its nice to have the "pizza-mind" even when I get it up to target whp.

I've now taken it out for a spin twice, and I'm already bored with 200whp...but the power-oversteer in 3rd gear is really cool. I'm taking it to Houston in a few hours for a work meeting...then jacking with 335's on the way to tha club. 200whp is right where these cars should have been from the start. Its enough to make you smile, but enough that its still controllable on all-season rubber. Now I have enough power to use the suspension, I didn't before...and that applies to a few corner on the track where i wished I had enough power to need all of the track.

I'd also like to say that even though there were a few issues with fitment on my car (related to the 99-motor in the 1991), I can't wait to give them money for the next one. They were cool to me every step of the way, they did everything I asked, and I feel got a lot for the money.

edit: the comments should go in my build thread, and I'll just post the dyno's over hurr.

Good job for finally getting it done.

Now onto the real things about your car. I think you have alot more potential power left even at 10psi. I made slightly higher numbers at DIY this past summer with my stock 94 engine and a gt2554. I am expecting a little bit more power out of your built motor and bigger turbo. Care to post up your spark and fuel tables so we can see what values your useing?

No joke! I was expecting to see a curve as it builds to boost threshold, but that looks pretty linear. I would still like to see the graph from 2,000 rpm instead of 3K rpm.

more like quadratic. I was also expecting it to ramp into boost like the old vw, but this is actually controllable. We'll see what happens after a couple thousand miles to loosen up the motor.

My dyno plot was extremely similar. I had same fueling problems (which I bought a 190hp).

Made something like 192hp at 10psi.

Which confuses me because I'm on stock compression and a GT2560. Similar spool and all. Maybe because I'm using a MBC?

looks good, i cant wait to get all my parts on my car this spring.

i might have missed it in your build thread... but what injectors are you running? Is it your injectors or fuel pump that's holding you back? I was hoping to run the stock pump for a while with my 550s

It depends on the health of your stock pump. My pump is fine at 17psi and 460s, but thesnowboarder's pump maxed out at 11psi with 440s. He's got a Walbro now and is close to maxed at 17psi on 440s. Hustler just needs a fuel pump and then the 550s will fuel that motor to at least 280-300whp.

Hustler, post your fuel map (hell, post the whole MSQ). I can try to tell you whether you're going to struggle once you install the fuel pump. I had to throw the fuel map away and start from basemaps on thesnowboarder's car away when we did his pump
