Ran the 1/8th mile last night
only got one run in :( my frist time draging this car
here it is on 10 psi and bf goodrich sports at 25 psi
et 8.688
60 ft 2.119
mph 83.099
chirped a little off the line, started to spin a little thru first tried pedaling but couldnt get it to hook up. went into second and spun a little there too and got into 3rd and held it right to the end of the track at about 7 k.
going again next weekend and trying a few other things and ill try to get more runs in. going to try to lower the rear spring rate and shock stiffness in the rear and bring the rear wheels to around 0 degrees camber and maybe my torsen will be here by then and ill take out a little weight and bump the boost to 15... comon 8.3's
the announcer didnt know what car it was so he typed "viatta" on my slip... wtf haha

lol, no thats not what I was saying. your not the only one with bad times. I'm not sure if that most guys just don't have the cars setup to drag...or don't use radials/slicks or what, but I haven't seen a guy post times with a sub 2 second 60' on here that I can remember. I'm just wondering if it is the car or if we just aren't good at drag racing on a whole because we are wired for corners.

I would think my car (1900 pounds / 220 HP) would be great for dragging. I probably should let someone drive my car sometime to see what kind of time they could get. My car would also be a fantastic autox'er but I am not good at that either <G>. I run a few seconds slower than stock Miatas on the course.

ES and CS tear it up...lol, usually are on par or faster than MOST of the CSP guys around here, not sure why, better drivers?
Maybe just the size doesn't allow for much weight distribution?

miatas suck at drag racing because they have everything wrong, except for RWD. IRS, lots of rear camber, 6"wheels, usually have stiff suspension, etc. i really don't care what kind of times i run because it's all about how much you are willing to beat on the trans and rear end. i just check the mph to guess how much power im makin.

Cos it costs money and takes room to pave a 1/4mile and keep it prepped also a 1/4 mile track needs more shut down room etc. I can always go down to Bowling green to run the 1/4 so i dont mind to much 1/8 is the launch and into the top of 3rd if done rigth that is the most skillfull part of the race and shows the most about the driver.

As for the wear and tear, the most abuse will come at the tranny from launching and the 1-2 shift. You do do those in an 1/8th, don't you?
