Default CAS + 12+1 crank wheel?

Ok. Trying to setup another dudes EMS4 which I told him not to buy because its a piece of ****, but besides that. I get there and find out he put on a 949 crank pulley and 12+1 wheel with an NB crank sensor and is using the cam signal from the CAS (un modded, is there something that happens in there when you do this ****? I normally just throw CAS's away). Anyways I cant get it to start sync and it just gives timing and sync errors. I tried both using the AEM stupid wizard thing and then also trying to use the settings out of my car with the 01+ cam trigger. I think I've narrowed it down to either the CAS mod thingy I keep seeing mentioned when I search and having the sync offset wrong.

TLDR
94 chassis
EMS4 with boomslang harness
CAS with only the cam signal wire hooked up
99+ Crank sensor with 12+1 wheel
No start sync
no composite logs because AEM has teh gays and doesnt do that stuff

You need to internally modify the CAS like J_man did.

Soviet did it here. I haven't been able to find much in the way of information on the mod other than that.
