FM voodoo box+saab 9-5 turbo how much boost possible?
Hi,
I am waiting for my voodoo box (will hopefully arrive tomorrow) and I was wondering how much boost could I put until the stock injectors wont deliver enough fuel for a safe ratio.
Everything is stock
Saab 9-5 turbocharger
I am expecting to run about 8psi, is that reasonable?
Please no free bashing on voodoo box, I know its not the best but I am building a very cheap setup and I dont expect miracles, juste wanna get the best I can out of it.
Thanks!

I have no idea the size of a Saab 9-5 turbo, but 8 psi? You might be running just over the max for it. The only way you'll know is by monitoring AFR's.
Voo-doo boxes don't control timing cause that's not important.
Correct plugs and gaps mean everything.

I already retarded my timing with my cam sensor (easy on a 90-93)

"All of it" means take your wastegate off. The turbo will spool until it can't make any more boost. It's known to voo doo users as "the safety range".
All of it means it will take all of it till it blows. My .02, take it for what it's worth from a lurker. Just so you feel better I am considering a similar setup for my wife's car, but limited to 6 psi with a charge cooler just to be safe. She wants a little more umph, but her driving already scares the crap out of me when she gets pissed.
MOORE.

It should use the same compressor map as this turbo but with a smaller exhaust side. Products | Turbochargers So toss that into your boost plot spread sheet and throw some numbers at it with your engine and see what you come up with. Just keep the air flow under ~14lb/min which is about the limit of the 1.6 injectors at stock fuel pressure.

I'll give you news about my results then

Philippe, are you a native English speaker?
Also: ASK FM, DAMMIT. it's their product. ask them what's safe to do with it.
