I'm surprised it took so long to someone to develop these. And for the price why not?

It's a bling thang + I'll need a sawzall to cut away all the zip ties.

A beer fridge?

Mobius 03-05-2015 03:26 PM

I believe Curly is being subtle. The beer fridge is missing something.

A second tap?

Mobius 03-05-2015 03:44 PM

Good eye! He actually has one, I know because I gave it to him, just needs a shank and some hole drillage.

bahurd 03-05-2015 04:10 PM

Maybe Singular can fab up a bracket to replace the duct tape. Something similar to the phantom coil brackets.

The beer fridge picture was subtly showing Singular's sticker, the light bulb.

These phantom coil brackets?

Oh! You found the top oil feed line?

Ryan, please compare my MS Labs (Reverant) Basic MS3 and Singular Motorsports 90-93 ECU bracket to those pictured in quotes below. It seems that my bracket is much more narrow than others. I get that midpack has a 2004 so his bracket is different. But curly has a 1993 and his ECU seems to fit his bracket just fine?

Although the little 90* bracket feet fit my ECU case, there's no way my ECU will fit on the Singular Motorsports ECU bracket using those feet even if I turn them inside out and use low profile mounting screws. Ideally, my bracket would be at least 3" wider so that I can use the 90* bracket feet the way they're intended to be used.

Am I only supposed to be using 1 of the 2 bracket feet and supplementing with zip ties and/or velcro? Or did you change the design at some point? It's hard for me to tell from the picture but it looks like curly might be using only 1 of the brackets whereas midpack is using both. Is that the difference between the 90-93 and the 99+ brackets?

You have the older V2.2 unit, whereas Curly has the newer V3.0 unit that is a lot smaller.

freedomgli 08-30-2015 07:00 PM

Thanks for the info. When was the changeover from v2.2 cases to v3.0?

I'm sorted. Zip ties and industrial strength velcro to the rescue. Never mind the rust in the passenger footwell. The bracket that the ECU cover mounts to got wet years ago when the AC evaporator drain line got blocked up.

The transition was gradual. The first V3.0 units were the 01-05, the first one was sold on January of 2014, while the last 2.2 was sold on May of 2014.

How come there are no MS3 brackets for 94-95 cars? (ECU behind passenger seat)

I suppose I could move it to the footwell and go junkyard shopping for a kickplate, but that's more work :P

Less (projected) demand. The more complicated the solution needs to be, the more demand there will be for a well-designed solution that takes the guesswork out of the process for the customer and makes it a bolt-on affair. Of the three ECU locations, the 99+ is the worst/most difficult to mount an aftermarket unit, followed by the 90-93. The 94-97 location is much easier for a DIYer to mount an ECU in, by just screwing it into the rear bulkhead. I'm not saying that's a good way to do it, but because it can be done that way easily, less guys will opt to spend money on a dedicated bracket.

Itty 09-23-2015 02:48 PM

Yeah, I hear that. I haven't heard of many requests for brackets in the behind-the-seat location either.

It won't be hard to fab up a quick little bracket out of some angle stock, it just won't be nearly as pretty as the ones you guys make. I wish the MS3 cases had some tabs built in...

blackandtan22 11-25-2015 04:29 AM

I too wish there was a bracket for the 94-97s. I'd buy one in a heart beat. Would beat my zip tie jerry-rigged method...
