This is how it was on there, untill a few minutes ago. The raised part is against the pulleys, not against the motor.

From the front, you can see the first tooth about 10 degrees BTDC (to the right of the center line, as the engine spins clockwise looking from this direction:

And from the engine side, you can see the 'dimple' sticking out towards you:

But I just realise the sensor is way furter in the turn, not at TDC. So I might have in on backwards, despite the bulge direction. This is weird.

[EDIT] Nope, the bulge in facing correctly, towards the damper and not towards the motor, and that makes a tooth pass the trigger at 10 degreed BTDC, like in the pics in my previous post. I think it is on correctly. [/EDIT]

OK, after a lot of hassle I erased the Mega's memory, loaded fresh firmware and the original base tune and with a little tuning the car drives great, now. But without the VVT. When I switch that on, the PWM numbers and cam angles are all over the place. What I am in desperate need of are proven PWM settings for the closed loop, as a starting point for finetuning mine. Please if you have a successful Speeduino VVT implementation or know someone who does, please share the settings with me. The fact that the PWM numbers and cam angles move, mean to me the mechanics and controls are all functional. Just some settings to get me going...

Cheers,

Hugo

I'm on these settings. Please note that I am on 1.5.1 - I forgot if I changed these values when I updated (don't think I did).

Thanks! Is that speeduino or another EFI system? My interface looks very different.

Cheers,

I'm on an MS3 basic. Not sure if speeduino has the same internal PID calculations - if that's not the case those values are probably not that useful. The other stuff should still be a good starting point.

Thanks. Yes, I can use some of it but especially the PID settings are way different I was told. And as I never believe anyone, I tried some MS PID setting and failed miserably

Hey Hugo not sure if this is of any help but the way I gathered my initial VVT settings what that I downloaded a 01-05 vvt base map from DIYAutotunes site. I didn't use that tune since it was for a 01-05 megasquirt ecu which gave me some comparability warnings but I was able to load the tune into tuner studios and literally copy over what ever information I needed into my tune. Still need to fine tune my VVT tables but it is currently working. I know you said your interface is much different than MS3 but you may still be able to gather info and general knowledge on how MS3 handles VVT and possibly learn how to tweak it for your application.
