question...how do you feel about chopping the housing/neck from the flange and rewelding it to the position that would best fit?

I wanted to do this, pretty bad, but it just seemed like it would be hard to make a nice bend. It'd be some close quarters welding, I was thinking you could get a nice neck and then put IT on the end.... But this was not too bad. REally, just cutting off the end, dremelling it flat and laying a bead on it to hold the hose one would be the perfect easy/budget way to do this, if you take care with the dremel.

I too an currently doing a reroute on my 00 and I have the spacer that will be taped for heater core and the kia waterneck. I'm looking for a good place to tap the temp sensor. With the cold side reroute I can not place the sensor in the back of the head, it gets in the way of the waterneck. Has anyone taped the side of the head? Like the picture. I understand the EGR tube would be in the way but thats now long gone. I don't have the means to weld aluminum to thicken up the spacer to keep the sensor from hitting the thermostat so thats out. Anyone ever cut a temp sensor; does it really need to be that long?

Thanks!

Here a better pic if where I'm thinking of taping.

You can't just put it in where that bolt is, above and left of your X. Others have tapped the side of the head, well, basically where I did. Check my pictures. I put a heater core bung there but you could put your temp sensor?
