Can i have an option to turn the fuzzy picture loading off? It doesn't actually help anything in any way. If i'm loading a pic heavy thread, i normally just click on it and walk away until it loads. Now i get to scroll through migraine-inducing fuzziness.
It's terrible. |
Yes, please

Fuzzy pics are atrocious, please get rid of them on desktop.
|
I've also noticed since the fuzzy pic mod, that the forum now does that absolutely infuriating thing, where you scroll to the last post in a thread right after opening it, and right as you start reading, the pics above load, and change the page length and auto scrolls you back up. I had to scroll back top a post 4 fuking times yesterday. took longer to make it stay on my screen than it took to read the post.

@hi_im_sean What browser and device are you using? I tested clicking on Last Post across multiple threads and devices and it always stays anchored.
Also, we made a change today that should load the full quality pics earlier. Let me know if there are any noticeable improvements. |
I think the problem is that he's scrolling to the last post from the top of the last page as it is loading (probably clicks the last page link) instead of clicking on the new post icon link.
|
This was on chrome. Yes, only happens when I click a page and scroll to the bottom.
I guess the fix is that I need to use the new post icon..... But, what if i know I want to read the last post on page 7 of 88 of my build thread for example? I don't always want to go to the latest post. |
Still fuzzy, still terrible.

Turns out most stuff like that is host-limited, not by modern internet connections.
I haven't had any such fuzzy picture problems on any forum well.... just any forum, ever. But i do now, in the year 2018. PROGRESS. |

As I have gotten older there are many, many, many things that irritate me. Now I have to deal with similar things on this forum, which has been (relatively) stable since I joined. Change for the sake of same is usually not a good thing. I notice that the only complaints being addressed in this thread are those which are fluff and easily rectified.

It could be me, cause I am old and slow, but I cannot manage to upload attachments. It gives me a message to wait until the processes complete, but they never do.
Is it because I am using Edge? |
Seems to work for me. In chrome. On windows. With a .gif image.

Do not give advice on this subject Joe. I love you, but your attached images only work less than half the time.
