I have a Radeon HD5850, so yes, considering upgrading. Problem is I've only had the card for a couple of months so I don't think I've got my moneys worth yet.
I think the fancy HD6950 you can unlock to a 6970 and OC is probably the best bang for the buck. Las time I checked they were out of stock.
Jeff man I think this is what you meant to link:

Looks like more than a "few frames" but I doubt that there are many people on this board who would drop $500 on a GPU, I certainly wouldn't...

Can get 2 hd6950 and run crossfire and get better resoults for the same price. You got less bang noob =P
Crossfire hd6950 vs gtx580
That would be the very dumbed down version if you don't know what the hardware numbers mean.
And you compared with the wrong hd6950, this is the right one hd69050 2gb vs hd6950 1gb Right hd6950 vs gtx580
Going to order another hd6950 when the hd7000 comes out and run cf after the price drop

Incidentally I ran BF 3 at ultra everything in highest res with not one bit of issue last. And I haven't even started overclocking. I think I'll be good. I'll get another GTX580 when the prices come down and win for life.
This new PC is insane. 10sec boots, windows took all of 7:30min to install. I seriously don't have the motor skills to move faster than this thing loads. Can't wait to get my Raid 0 2TB drives up.

How big are your monitors, and what resolutions are you guys playing at to need so much gfx power? I'm at 1920x1080, and my lowly radeon 6850 hasn't struggled with anything yet.
