Battlefield 3 pc check in
My i7 920 @ 3.5ghz runs around 85-90% load with hyperthreading disabled. 1920x1080, pretty much all gfx settings maxed.
I tried unlocking my new 6950s and did a bit of research after I bought them. You'll have the best luck trying to unlock a reference version. Pretty much any new 6950 you buy will not be unlockable. Mine weren't.

I was playing around and overclocking my gtx460, ran a test at 900mhz core and 1800mhz shader, 2150 memory. Got it up to 77 degrees celcius, ran the mark test fairly well, ran bf3 a lot better but froze after 10min of play :(. Addicted to the extremely pretty graphics of bf3 soooo...... I'm guna buy another gtx460 and SLi them :-D
This is why I haven't bought it yet.
I'm running:
e8500 3.16GHz dual core
8GB of DDR2
32bit Vista
ATI HD3850

You can both run the game on at lest low with not problem with good frame rate and it will just look like the xbox version. May have to run at a lower resolution to get frames up on some maps.

You just need a pcix16 (you can run pciex16 1.0/2.0/2.1 on any pcix16 mobo it will just run in the lowest comment mode) and i run my power house on a 480ps when everything i read said i would need a 600+
the lowest spec card i would get is the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150563

The GPU I have now required me to hack into the PS wiring, it didn't even have a hookup for a GPU. So I worry I'll overload it. It's been along time since I've had to build a PC, I have a dell dude.

But if you have a dell your only real problem is if the card will fit. Deal was stupid enough to make it some you could not fit a two bay card in there cases. Some of there over complicated ducting was in the way and so forth and so on.
my PS only had the cool newer type of power plugs, very thin SATA style. the convertor the GPU came with was for the really old bukly style like shown in your link. So I had to graft it in.
