Lost 3 mpg since I turboed the Miata. Oh well

and for some reason my tach is now acting weird. Sometimes it reads 500 rpm under. I have a spare cluster, just been too lazy to install it.

When I bought my 99 it was stock, and was getting around 28 MPG? I turbo'd it and used a voo-doo box and got 25mpg. Now with MS it's all over the place until I work the bugs out, but I hope for 30mpg.

 

I get 29mpg, and I drive like an *******.

Tune yo ****.

But really, who cares about 3mpg? Tell your fat girlfriend to get out of the car!

 

I'm lucky to get more than 23MPG
However if I stay out of boost I can get close to 40mpg

 

LOLz wife is far from fat.


I think I know what my problem is. Just waiting for pay day to hit up Olderguy for an o2 clamp. I think my FM o2 clamp is damaged. Every time I test it I get different voltage output readings.

I only stayed out of boost for half a tank, it was an experiment.. I havent been able to repeat this experiment.

 

stock i got ~23mpg, then turbo with bandaids i got like 17. now megasquirt 23...oh and 50more whp

 

I average 26 mpg, If I drive like Grannie I'll get as much as 32 mpg. But who really gives a ****?

check your base timing. I was getting between 20 and 23 mpg. Checked my base timing because i hadn't done since I bought the car. turns out I was retarded 7.5 degrees. Don't know what caused it. I had about a half a tank of gas left when i fixed it and I can already see that my mileage has improved dramatically. It lookslike I may get an extra 30- 50 miles out of this tank of gas

 

 

I *think* i get 21-22 city. I dunno with my 4.1 gears and my tire's diameterz.
