headunit FAIL

making car clean/not ghetto > engine swap

but SRSLY: the problem with a 7M vs a 2J is they both pose the SAME engineering challenges and set backs, it's just that for the same cost you end up with a better product with a 2j. The 7M is not an easier swap, what's the plus?

And what is going on with the hood of your car? For some reason it looks like you've cut out the center section of your hood... hoping that's photoshop.

LOL...in before the beating...

In all seriousness, OP, I would much rather de-ghettoifly the car if I were you instead of working on this engine swap...

Also, from the picture dustinb posted...your exhaust doesn't even look close to being 3"...

Next question...what are you going to use for the following:

-Brakes? (with big power and big weight comes big responsibility to stop when you need to)
-Suspension? (to actually maintain said power in turns, on the track, etc.)

the pic he posted is from months ago and nothing is photoshopped they are just from my cell camera so they all suck ... i like my headunit there is absolutely nothing wrong with it and ive gotten nothing but good comments about it until you douchebags i dont like the gauge pods for the miata and i didnt want the gauges under my radio and having them over my radio posed the problem of cd's hitting the shifter in 1st 3rd and 5th anyway my car is in no way shape or form "GHETTO" i have 2 different rims because i have 3 of the fronts one of them has a crack and i have 2 spare rims lying around and as for the 2j vs 7m yes i would rather a 2jz actually id really prefer a rb26 and if i had bought the 7m and then parts it would have come out to about the same price but as it is now i got the 7m trans ecm harness turbo etc etc etc for FREE i found a 2jzgte with all of that for the minimum of 2k after locating a trans because i would want to run a manual not a auto
for the brakes one of the pics shows i have cross drilled and slotted rotors and along with those is a good set of ceramic pads and the suspension will be addressed later by a set of coilovers and swaybars as well as a new set of rims and tires (this is a daily driver/ i ocassionally run to the strip or drift around its not a "TRACK CAR")
no my hood is not cut my car is 100% stock as far as the body goes besides paint and a newer top which were already that way when i got it

So you drive around with CD's hanging half out of the head-unit?

Damn, at least paint your wagon wheels (17's on an NA? wtf) to match. And someday padawan, you will learn that obtaining said engine for a swap is the cheapest/easiest part of the swap. You are no farther ahead having got your engine for free.

Making a "shop car" you are going to represent your "shop"...for that, of course making custom things is a good thing, but you're going to have to deal with people negatively commenting on some things. You posted the picture to be commented on it, so if anyone hates the living **** out of it, they have every reason to tell you.

Whoever gave you a compliment on that must be a retard btw.

LOL I dunno wtf kinda ghetto POS shop that's going to represent, but If I saw a "demo car" for a shop looking like that I'd run away as fast as possible.

The head unit looks retarded. Not like "omg, that's not my style" retarded, but a full blown "created by downs" type of deal.

If I were you bro, I would take the advice and un-ghettofy that poor miata.
I was actually surprised it didnt have cut springs with those ugly *** mis-matching 18" wheels with cheapo "mAd TyTe RaCiNg wHEeLz", altezza lights, and stick on M3 faux vents and scoop.

Makes my miata with a wing look like a boss... go on, ask me how I know.

Picasso called, he's issued you a cease-and-desist regarding your center stack.

I'm closing this.

Everyone, shame on you. To each their own, and you're not allowing him that. Persuading him to use another engine? That's fine. But leave the e-thugging to hustler.

OP, please take some higher quality pictures (aja no cell phones) and make a build thread once you've started. Do not post pictures of the wheels, interior, or exterior, you only end up with more BS. Take some of the engine, engine bay, sub frame modifications, etc.

WHEN YOU'RE READY, start this build thread in the build thread section.
