I can make my own thread... but what is a good resource for rewiring a car? I'd like to remove as much cruft as possible from mine, but I haven't been able to find any excellent resources specifically for rewiring a Miata.

My Rotrex had a BOV in front of the throttle body for the same reason a turbo has a BOV in front of the throttle body. Its the back of the manifold that has me screwed up.
The Rotrex does its best work in the upper RPM range, so spinning the hell out of it is actually beneficial provided you are under the -74's 120,000 RPM redline. The problem is that you may actually be moving more air that you want/need. You don't want to compromise things with a restrictor at the compressor, so bleeding off the air (like a wastegate bleeds off exhaust) makes some sense. You still have flat boost response at WOT and you keep the blower in its efficiency range without blowing things up.
So I'm guessing its some sort of epic boost control. It's been discussed in the past, but I've not seen it implemented. I bet it'd be loud as ****.

I'm speculating that's what they are doing with the wastegate, its the only thing my brain can come up with. I can pretty much guarantee you that's not a production thing.

WG controlled by the MS3Pro. Car still has the standard recirc valve that comes with the production CARB kit. WG is there to bleed off excess boost at part throttle or at WOT when running pump gas. It's geared for max boost so probably 16-19psi. Too much for pump gas so we'll bleed off to about 10psi to keep power down. On E85, the WG stays shut.
Trackdayhookey runs something similar on Mega only it has a BOV instead of a recirc. He has a C38-94 on a basically stock longblock (rods/pistons/bearings) and it wants to make 450whp on race gas. Can't put that down on track so he detunes to something like 380whp IIRC.

That would be why we're bringing a 55g drum of E85, 30g caddy and about 4 full 5g jugs.

Yup. This car is well past that. Read the notes on the YT page. Car was built to show what the hardware is capable of. Reality is most people who want a 300whp Miata have little interest in silly things like oil coolers, big brakes and safety equipment. Deviate is about as well prepped as an HPDE car can get before it gets caged though. FIA seat with .250" thick plates attached to floor reinforcements, 5 pt FIA harness, full driving suit and HNRS. Leagues better than most fast HPDE cars I see.
Just the same, this power setup will be pulled from this car for another project and it'll go back to being N/A in a few months.

Now for the threadjack . . . as you know I lost my intake valves at Hallett. On teardown, the valve faces were found to be worn to the point that there was no lash. This was on a valves that were reground in July, so not that much time on them. Could a mechanical overrev cause this? Or maybe overrevs got the wear started and then the lack of good contact to the head overheated the valves?

The fact that it's so easy to go back and forth is a nice testament for the kit.

I got back from a month of business travel and took Honey Badger out to the track. Did 5 30-minute sessions and pretty much passed everything (https://www.miataturbo.net/build-thr...0/#post1186059). What a great combination. I'm really enjoying it. Just wanted to say thanks.

Very cool. These builds have such good intrinsic balance. Balance between power, brakes, predictability, responsiveness, grip, reliability, comfort. Always makes me happy to see someone enjoying it all weekend long with little more than a quick fluid level check once or twice a day.
