Our people are just up the *** of special interest groups. The hippies-liberal-douchers decided that cows contribute to the worlds "carbon footprint" so now dairy farmers (who were allready struggling because they cant sell their milk for ****) have to pay some kind of enviromental fee because their cows have to take a ****. Special interest groups can suck it. Just another example of people ****** up.

it's always the hippie liberal douchers. they're the same ones against pouring tons and tons of factory farmed chicken poop onto fields and inadvertently killing all life in the chesapeake.

The article does say that it's only approved for cars 2007 and newer. Presumably that means that there will be plenty of E10 or E0 gas available as well.
I wonder what would happen to the agricultural subsidies if Iowa and Rhode Island traded places on the presidential primary schedule. Or if citizens in rural states weren't disproportionately represented in the senate...

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know the stability if e85? like on a scale for gas is the octane rating, what would e85 be equivilant to? I can see where dopelgagnger make sense by just adding volumes of it to make more power but it also has to be stable for timing advance and low detonation.....to make power.

There's a thread around here somewhere where people are all jazzed about getting connecting rods for like $10 less than m-tuned sells them for.
since we all know corn is corn is Monsanto corn, it's interchangable. plus you dont determine your own prices. the grain elevator does. if someone shows up and asks for 2% more, they will laugh and send them on their way to let their corn rot.

Depends what you mean by that. CO2 from 65 million years ago (oil) is not the same as CO2 from 6 months ago (corn). The CO2 released when burning e85 was in the atmosphere 6 months ago and doesn't result in a net increase.
That being said, making ethanol from corn is terribly inefficient and has close to a 1:1 energy equation so the CO2 released from production (and all the water used to produce it) offsets any potential gain.
IMO government subsidized corn ethanol is a direct result of Iowa being the first presidential primary. Anyone with presidential hopes will have to answer why they don't support corn farmers if they vote against it. There is also lobbyist pressure but I feel that has less to do with it.
