It actually had a roll bar and harness. The lady said she wanted to autocross with her dad and never did. She bought it as is from a impound yard.
It had a tolerable loud kid exhaust.

I thought well this is gonna be a turd with that exhaust!

Speedo cable busted. tach not working. I run it up to whats is usually 6500 by sound. Its not done.....

HMMmmm... Buy car and start heading home.......SWEET LORD!!!!!!!! Either it is screaminig 8000rpms, or it has like 363 gears. It winds forever....And runs like a rapped ape on top end.
Look under car, adjustable coil overs! Mandrel bent exaust. Oh-yea.

Back to engine. So Im worried that I might over wind it, but pull is nowhere ending where a miata normally stops by sound. Been riding crotch rockets for years...I know when a engine is done by sound. Tach not needed for Non boosted car.

So I bite the bullet, and wind it tighter than Opra Windfrees Sun dress. It is flying...1st, second , 3rd,,,,opps hit rev limiter. Rev limiter........

Do 96 miatas have a rev limiter.....?
Im betting there is some sort of management.....

Then I LOOK IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR...The mirror should be over a sink. ITS HUGE. You can see like the whole horizen behind you.

Car runs great and is fast. I almost decided not to boost....Can't resist though, I got a 16g or a upgraded M45. I can get 190hp out of m45. Thats all i need for ac and daily.

 

Its a 96. Some crazy blue green paint. Im gonna change to the 99's blue.
Car will clean up nice.

Pictures in morning. It is so dirty. The back glass is missing. So I'm going to have to clean it up drasticly.

I need to pull the floor panel and see if there is a aftermarket piggy or a megasquirt in there.

Finnaly done with 1.6l's......I have alot of parts for them... But I Ran across this for cheap. And my brother just gave me a supercharger, bipes and afpr.
Super easy setup.

I am curious to see what you find out has been done to this car. Roll bar, no tach, coil overs, and a harness tell me it is prepped for something, including some engine mods.

 

this car is worthless with mp45.

pulling floorboard is worthless to find ecu.

winds and winds and winds to hit 6900rpm rev limitir is funny because slowcar.

 

363s would make is wind LESS, not more... You would notice it rev'ing LOWER than usual on the highway.

 

well if it was a stock powered 1.8L with those gears it would take forever to hit 6900RPMs.

Good point. Me thinks OP is used to 1.6 power, and sees speed climb more than he's used to per gear. Extra time in gear, and extra speed at the top of gear must mean higher revving. Obviously we need pictures of the engine bay and the car, or more fail pictures.
