also something really dumb is that the terminals on replacement batteries are slightly smaller the the OE. so often times they simple dont make good contact unless you bulk up the terminal with something conductive.

Please read thread before commenting. Starter and ground needed to be replaced anyway. Problem has been resolved. Mods please close the thread
