I picked my 6 speed up last week. With a bunch of crap in the trunk even. You slide the tail shaft into the opening on the left above where the factory jack goes. The bell housing will rest in the deepest part of the trunk. Easy peasy JDM squeazy.

Don't make me haul it back out to the car just to take pictures for you!

If its that big a worry about the bell housing not fitting into the foot well, do the following:

Bring a piece of plywood that covers the bottom cushion of the passenger seat. Something maybe 18X18 or so will be close enough Place it on there, with lawn/garden trash bags covering the seat. Bag up the trans as best you can. Put tail housing into passenger foot well. Rest bell housing on pass seat plywood. Use tie down to seat rails to hold in place. The trans weight will be distributed onto the surface of the seat pretty well, and it weighs less than a passenger in the first place.

If you are going to bag it (a good idea) get the extra thick 'contractor's grade' trash bags so they will not tear. You can get them at Lowes, Home Depot, etc.

You only needed the sub to hide the noise from the crappy tranny. You won't need it when you install the new tranny. Yank it!
