Definitely good call on safety concerns.

Essentially all seat belts are 7/16-20, even in a Miata and other Japanese cars due to SAE standards. 'Merica.

Fuel line + clamps. Get actual fuel line clamps, they are different than normal hose clamps.
He's actually not, he was giving me advice and told me where he has all his custom lines made. I ended up cutting the lines with a tube cutter, flaired them with a flairing kit, then I slipped some 350psi fuel line on them and used two high pressure fuel hose clamps on each end of the hoses.

Yeah that's what I told him and he eventually agreed after I sent him a picture of the hoses under the hood.
