E85 Checklist
My T25 setup will likely see little power gain if I run E85, and I'd be scared for my rods anyway. So, the torque limit will keep me from going much further. Is making the chance of knock nonexsistant worth dropping ~$125 on a fuel pump and converting my car to returned/manifold referenced FPR? It's like I really want to run E85, but don't even know why. Maybe I just want to feel special?

it can see a big power gain becuase you can push both boost and timing to the very limit.
put it this way: my dinky ihi, which is ACTUALLY smaller than your t25, saw 25hp WITHOUT touching timing at all.
and there's no knock.
....there are reasons not to go e85 (mainly availability) but YOUR reason is a terrible one

This is pretty much my plan. Adjust timing, then see where I'm at, lower boost if needed...
Maximize safe power, make that power safer, spool to full boost faster (because boost may be lower, + more exhaust flow), keep engine cooler, smells purdy... Plus I can fill my tank for $21.
I don't really see any reason not to.
Also, my wally 255 was $60 shipped, so not sure where the $1xx+ price came from.

It's about that cheap here. $2.09 when I saw it this morning. 87 is $2.29, 93 I bought there was $2.66. So, 27% cheaper to fill up with E85, and my understanding is the fuel economy loss is 10%<X<20%. This of course being solely financial, not including all the benefits for the motor/performance.

You want a DW200 with install kit? I ordered one from Bryan but he sent 2, so I was going to return one, but if you want it I can just have you pay him and I'll send it to you
And after numerous experiments, so far I'm convinced that it is not any more expensive than pump whatsoever.

Yes, the fuel economy loss here is greater than 10%, but $2.66 is about 30% more than $2.09. I end up breaking about even.
And thanks for the warning. I certainly won't be going crazy with timing, but I was still running the stock timing map that came with my Rev ms3, which is hella conservative.
I plan to run "pauls map" from the much ado about timing thread, which to my understanding, people are running with success on pump gas with my motor, correct?

Pauls map is not agressive for e85 lol. Heck, people like Joe would even say it's weak sauce
DW200>Wally for me, because I love quiet.
Of course if you wanna go all BECAUSERACECAR, the Wally HP makes it sound like you're in some 5 second dragster with a Weldon pump lol

Did some data logging with my new timing to look for knock (lol), and threw one into virtual dyno.
I need to smooth out my VE map a bit, but boost holds solid at 10.5psi, and AFR stays around mid 11.
I lifted at 5800rpm because I was a *****, but assuming torque doesn't drop off too much to 6800, I'm looking at just over 250whp, 200wtq which is right what I was hoping for/expecting.
99 Stock motor
GT2554R @ 10.5psi
FIC 775cc injectors
fleabay IC
Rev built MS3 (I have such a mancrush on that guy)
and MOTHERFUCKING CORN BABY

Looks great man! How do your data logs look for temps? I've seen a fairly significant drop in overall temps with most cars running E85.

I don't have EGT, but MAT was 71F at the end of this pull (I had been out driving... aggressively... for a while), ambient was 68F. CLT was 197 at the end of the pull, with a 195 thermostat in there--but I have a coolant reroute, an aluminum, shrouded, big-***-fanned radiator, and had the heat on just a smidge.
Oh, and I have those kick-*** custom vents made by one of the members (and now vendors?) of this forum.

I did the math quite a few times over the 3+ years my WRX ran E85. At the time gas was around $4, and E85 was very slightly more expensive. The amount was very, very small and over the course of a year (20,000 miles of driving). I would guess that now that E85 is under $2 it would be a wash. Either way, it is still the best money spent for butt dyno approval. It smells better and more ALLOFIT.
