Default egr removal 96

What's the best way to disconnect the egr tube from the stock manifold? I can't get a wrench on it from the exhaust side. I need to reinstall it too, so don't tell me to ditch it. I'm prepping the car for sale and need to replace an expansion plug.

Also, does anyone have a decent looking OEM heat shield they'll send me for cheaps?

Disconnect the fuel injector power plug, remove the bracket holding the wires on the back of the mani and move them all out of the way. It looks like a lot of work, but in reality, there's only 1 bolt you have to remove to clear everything, and I mean everything, out of the way.

The car is stock. I'm selling it. It's a 96' and thus OBDII. Why would I NOT want to keep it?

I can get a wrench on it but there's not enough room to turn it and the wrench hits the body. Maybe I'll pick up some crow's foot dealies. These help with turbo mani installs too, right? I'm about to put a new FM manifold on my 95', so if I'm gonna need 'em I may as well get them now.

So you're saying that it's easiest to disconnect from the intake side? I just need to move the manifold out of the way a little to give me good access to the expansion plug.

Oops, my bad, I thought you were trying to remove it from the intake mani side. Sorry.

i managed to use a small adjustable wrench. or you have just have to cut a wrench down to size. you can crank it most of the way by hand.

Lots of great ideas here. Thanks. Actually never thought of an adjustable.

I'm going crow foot first though; any excuse to buy tools.

Buffon- pm on the way.
