Default MAF sensors?

So i'm wanting to put a cone style airfilter on my car but the stupid vain air door is constructed for my stock air box. Would a gm style MAF sensor work on my car's 1.6 liter motor? Will it need to be tuned to the MAF?

Not without copious electronic wizardry.

You can get adapters to convert the square fitting on your VAF sensor to a round tube fitting.

Tough ****. You can't put a hotwire MAF on a 90-93 Miata without more work than it would take to just ditch the whole business and run Speed-density.

Besides, once your rotary is in, it'll all be moot, no?
