Default bah. clutch slave.

I dunno what it is.

I feel like I replace the damn slave or rebuild it every 8 months. It's not even worth it to go down there to bleed at this point. better just to pull it and rebuild it. maybe bleed once in between rebuilds.

Someone make me a hydraulic release bearing.

Where do you buy em? Any particular brand? I think I bought mine from FM.

Are you using a high quality rebuild kit? That does seem unusuall for it to fail that often. What kind of fluid do you use? Is their any trash in the master cylinder for the clutch?

Ah, you have that twin disk clutch setup. I'm just guessing that's got something to do with it.

That sucks, hoping mine doesn't go out anytime soon. I had to rebuild my master when it went out. Wonder how long it will last.

i think my clutch slave is failing also (autozone unit) it started dripping very slowly a month ago and now the transmission shifts like poo. I have a replacement cylinder from FM (figured it might last longer) and i suppose ill swap that in this week sometime and hopefully it will make it shift like butter again ... like it did 2 months ago.

mines the same way. check the inside of the body for small gouges, i sanded mine down with high grit sand paper and it smoothed out really nicely i hope that helps, i dont wanna rebuild again in another year.

if it fails, don't rebuild; replace.

I rebuilt mine because the dumb mechanic that did my roadworthy said it was leaking but it was just the CAS o ring.

actually this is the FIRST rebuild. it would have been either my fourth or fifth slave replacement (whole replacement, OEM Mazda unit)

Does your twin disk setup have a stronger pressure plate, putting more of a load on your slave cylinder?

I'm not a hydraulic expert, although my grandfather owns his own hydraulic repair shop. I believe you should get new unit and tear it down and make sure it's perfect. Hone it out smooth, measure everything to make sure their within specs, and reassemble using the highest quality parts, o-rings, and clean fluid. I wonder about 'new' stuff from your autozones and whatnot. It's not always high quality.

Edit: is the slave pushing straight, not at an angle? Is it being over extended? Is the fulcrum on the fork the same?
