R O F L ! ! ! !

They must've seen the group buy discount on the Polyurethane one and got scared...

The day the Knockoff was posted I checked rspeed and it was full price!

Edit: I'd still rather buy the knockoff! The GV lip from R-Speed comes out to 179$ after shipping. The knockoff is $179 shipped for free... And it won't shatter into a billion pieces when you look at it.....

What are the R-lips worth on the second hand market? Mine has a small crack in it from the previous owner totaling his car, but when installed you can't even tell..

I really couldn't tell you what they are worth, you hardly ever see any used ones for sale. Keep in mind a new one is around 200 from the dealer and rspeed has the reps for 179 shipped. I would think around one hundo but what do I know... You guys should definately pm me if/when you put yours on the block though.
Back on topic, these new lips look like they will absolutely hold up to the abuse much better than the GV ones. I've just never been a huge fan of the overstated styling.

I guess I'm the only one on mt.net who doesn't really think that copying GV is a good idea..

I bought a real one because I don't like knock off stuff.

If it works for you guys, that's cool.

Really though, what I'm wondering, is how all you people crack your lips so often? My integra is LOW and I just don't hit ****... And the roads here are guaranteed to scare many people. -40C in the winter and +30-34C in the summer = major expansion and contraction which leads to big potholes and bad roads overall.

I think the solution here isn't to buy a fake lip, it's to learn to not hit **** lol!

I say this all with a smile so don't ethug.

Expecting to see Cali?

I could care less about knockoffs IF they work. I don't believe in paying more for something due to exclusivity... thats infantile. A better product sure... but to be that guy who has something someone else doesnt.... screw that... he can take his sideways hatt, tatoo'd shoes, tight pink abercrombie shirts and stick it.

I think what he's getting at is a direct copy is wrong. The Miata was based on those cars but has it's own design and improvements over those cars. The knockoff lip is the exact same, made of the same material and has the same design. They claim it's stronger as the difference, but until someone tests them side-by-side with the same tests, know one knows for sure.

I could really care less though, if you think they're doing something wrong by selling a copy, don't buy the product. My GV lip was just as pliable as the knockoff when I installed it (I didn't run it over with my SUV to test it though), and it hasn't broken yet. I keep it coated with a UV protectant so it doesn't dry out and I also don't hit things.

With everything Asian companies have knocked off over the last 40 years isn't it right that there's a little payback now?
