Behold

Also here is the LED I use in my NB, the combo makes the hole super easy to find.

Lmao! No bans needed here. I came to this forum for this crap! Yeah, finding the hole is fun, and I’m hoping muscle memory kicks in at some point.
I’ve toyed with the push button idea, but fear my vehicle getting stolen if someone finds the switches. On one hand, thieves aren’t always smart. On the other- if I got in a car with push button start, and it didn’t immediately fire up, I would start looking for switches near the driver.

I stick my fingernail in the ignition slot and lead my key in but yes sometimes it takes a few tries.

I can attest to this.

Twenty-something years ago, I drove a '71 VW SuperBeetle cabriolet. That car was in mint condition. Clean, straight body- 100% original and in great shape.

One day, a thief decided that they wanted my cheap-*** Kmart radio. Did they cut the top like a civilized human being? Of course not, that would have been too easy to repair. Instead, they used what I assume to be a jumbo-size flat head screwdriver to pry the passenger side vent window out, using the pristine passenger door as leverage. Put a pretty serious dent in the door and fucked up the paint, in addition to bending the window frame.

I cannot even begin to convey the anger that I felt upon discovering this. Not because they'd stolen the radio, but because they'd chosen a particularly stupid and destructive path to get to it.

I feel ya joe. Anymore, I’ve just stopped locking my cars. If someone wants something inside, they can have it the easy way. That said, I don’t keep anything valuable in any car ever. I brung it with me if I leave the car.
