Acorns in the timing belt? Oh wait, wrong Mob member

How full was your tank when it was parked? The more air in the tank, the quicker it goes bad.

Honestly it does sound like injectors to me.The one and only time I filled up with AM/PM gas one of mine got stuck. It would run really rough under any sort of load (3 cylinder powa) and occasionally it would get better for a few moments. The unplug a injector idea is a good one. Thats how I figured out which one it was. Does MS have a way to shut down individual injectors? My system had that at the time, which saved me a lot of headaches and time under the hood.

If its not that, then I am trying to think of things that can happen while sitting to cause this, and condensation on an electrical part is one of them. If you have a intermittent short or something from say a wire going through the firewall with minimal insualation that has some condensation on it then it could mess with anything. But honestly thats a long shot.

There is a drain bolt on the miata tank...and winter gas is also different from summer gas. I dont know if you put winter gas in it, but if you did and its warm out now it could cause that problem. Why dont you just pull the fuel rail and prime the key and see where fuel is coming out.

all great idea, I'm getting 2 other injectors on sunday and put them in. 2 for safe measure lol

Its easy enough to unclip the injector from the harness.
Gas is from last week or so. I got a tank of 93 the same day about an hr or so before in my other car and that turbo car ran fine.

You know what's easier?? SWITCH INJECTOR 2 WITH INJECTOR 1 AND SEE IF YOU STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM ON INJECTOR 2!!!!!!!!!

Jesus Christ dude. First you think your COPs are bad and look for new COPs or to borrow a set before actually just swapping them around and seeing if the same problem exists. I STILL think its a wiring issue. Either on the COP harness, the injector harness, OR at the MS itself. Swapping injectors take a total of 10 minutes and costs you $0.

Tap each injector with something like a screwdriver handle while the car is running, if you haven't tried this already. It cured a stuck injector on my NA!

If your cops are still ran by the stock igniter I would check that. Unfortunately only way to check is with another good igniter.

I know you have a new belt, but do you have a new tensioner, idler, and spring?
