I put a vacuum pump on it, and it's all over the place; highly inconsistent.

sometimes it wont pull any vacuum, other times it would pull and hold nearly the max of the unit.

one time i started the car, pumped it a bit, turned it off and tried again and it literally wouldn't pull any vacuum at all. When it does pull vacuum it seems to hold it...but other times it was leaking off ever so slightly.

I feel like it should always pull the same amount of vacuum all the time right?

Does anyone know if the 99/00 ABS prop valve is the same as the 01-sport non-ABS prop valve?

Sounds to me like the diaphram is loose aroung the perimeter. Sometimes it seals, but sometimes it doesn't.

I don't think they're same. Brake feel on my 99 and 00 was nothing like brake feel on my 01. I say feel cause that's the only way I have "measured it", but the brakes on my 01 are WAY better

I just figured if i have to remove it, if there's a prefered master/booster combo, I might as well do it.
what was wrong with the brass fittings?

would the 929 1" master cylinder be a better upgrade than the sport MC? has anyone used that 929 master - do new lines need to be made?

I snapped one while installing. Had to be an issue with the threads or the taper of the flare just not mating well with the stock lines. It just didn't seal, so I tightened it a bit at a time, and it eventually snapped. I got a replacement and used some sealant on the threads and it's been okay for 2+ years, but it's in the back of my head as a weak point and I'm still going to get some of TSE's steel fittings.

anyone do the 929 master cylinder swap? i read around and saw that people were getting the ABS version, so that's what I did. problem is it has 2 ports instead of the 3 the stock miata has (has two for the front brake lines). can i just install a brass T to spllit the lines?

Man, threads like this make me want to start a Miata wiki/FAQ etc. thing that has ALL of the information you could ever want on the NA/NB in one spot. What fits between the two, and what factory upgrades are. People that are new to Miatas might not know that they can get 1.8 brakes for their 1.6, or even Sport NB brakes as an upgrade. I didnt know until this thread that the booster/master was different as well.

trying to bleed some new wilwoods with a sport booster/929 mc swap. bench bled the MC, i can bleed the rears fine, no pressure gets built up when i go to bleed the fronts though. gravity bled the two top bleeders on both sides and fluid comes out ... but no pressure after pumping up the brakes - sounds like a bad MC? unfortunately you can't buy new 929 MC's anymore. it doesn't look like i'm having luck with this reman..

Depending on where you get it from, many parts places have lifetime warranties on them. I'm pretty sure I got a lifetime on my slave cylinder, because as you know, Miatas tear through them like butter through wet paper
