The 356 cabrio will always strike a better pose. It's like comparing an Aston Martin DB5 to the factory it was built in.

I would prefer the hardtop coup than the topless :dunno:

I too prefer hard top to convertible..
Once I get my hard top it won't be coming off the car.

At Thermal Motorsports Park today.
One of the guys driving it it has quite a bit of time in the ND Cup car. He tells me our car is significantly faster in a straight line and also handles better. Interesting.

Wonder when mazda will be knocking on your door

Your car is tune+exhaust correct? What is different from the cup cars.

I think Matt Wilson is doing theirs. They did not ask for more power but wanted to make some changes to the rev limiter activation. I understand they are still having problems with intermittent TC activation when it should not. We had the same problem at Laguna Seca with someone else's tune. When we deleted that tune and built our own from scratch the problem went away so I'm not sure where the problem lies.

It was interesting to hear the guys compare the NC Cup car that was there today to ours. Ours goes over bumps, the NC Cup car does not. You could hear it on track as wheelspin as the NC tried to follow our ND over the curbing in the chicane.

There was no ND cup car there but one of the guys that drove our car is a pro with Mazda and has been involved in the development. Has quite a bit of seat time in it so it was valuable feedback to get from them.

Oh yeah, both of the Mazda Pros loved our ND. Said it was buttery, very easy to drive and they loved the brakes.

:bigtu: I bet that's pretty cool to hear about a car you developed

Yah. Shows we're on the right track and eases my mind a bit.

I kind of don't want to put on 225 RE71-Rs on this car...

It's almost too much fun sliding sideways through corners and stuff. This car is so forgiving and easy to control.

Girz0r 03-19-2016 07:17 PM

Test drove a sport today, made the cute saleswoman squeal through the back roads

Gave her a ride in the msm and received nothing but compliments on my car :bigtu:

I'll be definitely getting a club, if I don't end up getting a MS3.

Clutch was surprisingly easy to adjust to vs my fm2. Disliked the steering feel disconnect, but not enough to turn me away from wanting one.

turbofan 03-21-2016 01:28 PM

Yeah, the steering is definitely on the light side. But you get used to it.

Dunning Kruger Affect 03-21-2016 02:01 PM

I drove an NC2 during fun runs, and yeah, the steering was significantly heavier but like... who cares? I'm not rushing over to mnet to try to figure out how to retrofit an NC steering rack into the ND.

You know where the front wheels are pointed at in the ND at all times, it's just that you don't have to put any muscle into it. The Lexus has a depowered rack on 255s and is a workout wheeling it around the track; however, I wouldn't put "steering feel" as being better than the ND.

asmasm 03-21-2016 02:03 PM

The nice thing about EPS is that at some point you will be able to get a tune for different feel.
