I seem to remember the Coyote engines don't actually have a coolant temp sensor and use a sensor that measures the temp of the head, and uses that to calculate coolant temp and it's pretty accurate. But I haven't looked at any of the stuff regarding that engine since I sold mine 6.5 years ago.

What's the current "Go Fast" setup for NDs? My 2016 is going to be paid off in ~45 days and I'm getting the itch to do car garbage again after going way too hard back in 2014-2016.
Karcepts front sway bar, Xidas double (or triples), 17x9s wrapped in a 245?
Has the yaw sensor been defeated yet?

This module keeps TCS off if that's what you're after: https://rev9autosport.com/joyfast-dsc-off-kit.html
I don't know much about a good HDPE build, but I'd wager a decent set of well matched coilovers and swaybars would be a good idea. Use this calculator to plan your bar & spring setup: FCM_Ride_Harmony_ND_Mazda_Miata_Online
I think you might want to deal with the cooling issues too if you're taking it on track. The karcepts bar is really big. The STR guys are building for like -4* static front camber and big sways & springs. Think subframe reinforcement required to avoid damage. Most of the competitive builds I've seen don't look like they would be very fun to drive on the street, but that's just my opinion.
I guess it boils down to whether you want a more capable street car, or a street legal track car?

The yaw sensor thing is something that Emilio said he experienced that's outside of the TSC button press. It's not as drastic as like E36 ice mode, but the ND apparently really doesn't like drastic yaw movement.
As for autocross, it's a distant concern. I'd rather have something that's more enjoyable on the track to turn laps than something that can contest regional or nationals for autocross.
The other options are either getting back into an NA/NB and doing VVT round 2 (or a K swap), going the NC route if Xidas are going to be available, with a Toyobaru being a distant option since the cars are still so expensive.
e: from what I can tell, there's only a handful of people who are serious ND folks, one of them being Matth3w from mnet

If you are just after enjoyment on track, then I have found my multiple ND's to be more fun on track stock than any of my previous miatas. The 2019 engine is especially enjoyable on track. The 2016 Sports are the lightest ND's there will ever be, they have dropped dramatically in price, and I think one of those with a K swap would be incredible fun. Just make sure you have an adequate transmission. BBR makes an NC transmission swap kit for the ND. Pair that with an adapter to a K and go to town.
In case you want an NC, I have a great condition 2012 GT for sale. Stock LSD and HID headlights. I also have many track parts that I would throw into the sale for the right price.

Well, I waited until Mazda built the ND I wanted (I let Mazda do the mods and give me 7500RPM with 181HP). 0% with lots of cashback, how could I say no?
This thing seems pretty stiff. I drove a regular club back to back with this, and the Brembo car felt noticeably stiffer. ??
It's only an occasional tracker though -- like when I have guests visiting -- so I think mostly stock will do. Famous . . . last . . . words . . . .

Yeah, I'm just acknowledging we all have the mod sickness... for me, the mods I like the best are the ones that prevent bouncing off bump stops in hard cornering and reduce the drivetrain lash in light throttle and jazz up the silent exhaust. If I was going to make minimal changes, I'd go with a propperly paired set of mild springs sways & (mandatory) bumps tops, a muffler to your taste, and some dif bushing stiffening.
Like maybe...
GWR sways
GWR springs
GWR rear bumps
JBR dif mount
GWR SSST
Or just drive it? (Yeah right?)

Well, I think I've found my first mod. Moti's Aurora bracket for the driver's seat. https://auroraautodesign.com/collect...miata-fiat-124. I'm sitting too high but I need to keep the seat adjustable for my lovely bride (5'2").
That didn't take long, did it? Come to think of it, whenever I instruct in one of these I move the seat up so I can recline it and get headroom for a helmet. Sometimes I ask the student to put the top down.

I was at an HPDE this weekend and corded my tires on the Red car. So, over lunch, I ran home and grabbed the ND. It had 1000 miles on it. Bone stock. Time for it to learn about the track!
How did it do? All I can say is . . . my 1974 Eldorado has less body roll!
I really liked the drivetrain, brakes and seat. I found the best way to drive was to smoothly load the suspension until it took a "set" on the bump stops. Once set, the car was easy to manage with throttle, it rotated well. However, transitions couldn't be rushed. And if you had to make a correction, that could get sporty due to the sloppy response and light steering.
The car needs a serious stiffening. I wonder if adding sways is a worthwhile interim step? And which sways would you choose if you think you'll eventually end up with Xidas on Sport or Race springs? I see references to "GWR sways," but Goodwin sells a lot of different brands.
