miataturbo.net-like debauchery thread (about the ND or something)

The mnet lunch crew is in full effect.
More than a few people are claiming that Mazda is gaming all of the testing that journalists have done simultaneously because there is no earthly way that the ND is faster than the NC. It has to be the gearbox specifically made for 0-60, or maybe a bespoke motor that's definitely making more than 155hp, or or or or
Everything is a conspiracy.

I'd love to see an ND dyno. It doesn't seem possible for it to keep the previous 2L SkyActive ratings after head/manifold/exhaust/tuning changes. Almost like they had to put something out and real numbers weren't yet available.
Anybody know what that little tube from the intake pipe to the cowl is? My daughter's NC has that too.

Maybe for noise?

You know, passive sound tubes actually don't seem all that unreasonable to me, because you're still listening to the actual engine noise. It's not really any different than picking a muffler based on the qualify of the sound.
It's the speaker-based engine noise simulators that I think are really stupid.

And yeah, I'm aware that lots of Ford vehicles started coming with non-standard radios before the Japs got on board. That, to me, is not a strong selling point.
(Those same Fords also came with solid rear axles.)
So we've determined that, on the radio front, the ND is worse than an S2K, and roughly on par with a 10 year old Taurus.
Nice.
