waht lead me to that observation. well it's Italian, so it will do Italian things. combine that with reports from friends that own 500 abarths (they drive dealer's rentals more then their 500's), and finally fiat was ranked worst in reliability by a large margin this year.
that being said. I love the italian flare of things. they have a real sense of style in even the cheapest cars they offer. the fact that you mention you haven't had a problem in 140k makes me want to think the storm is over, and buy one.

It has its share of gremlins, but nothing related to the powertrain.
Maxcare has been awesome, and has covered all the little things (wheel bearings, bad airbag sensor, etc.).
The thing that seems the most "off" to me, is the godaweful wheels.
Looks like something taken from the Sebring parts bin.

throw a fast back on it it will look like a 240z. ironically you need to buy a Italian car made in japan (not by nissan) to get a modern 240z.

I think asmasm and I are going to be offering fully synthetic blinker fluid within the next few weeks for the ND. Just wanted to give the MT crowd a heads up as to what we've been developing since we found out about the inadequate blinker fluid situation on the ND.

I like both, and I like the options that it will bring to the market provided that they don't cannibalize too many Miata sales. I like that Emilio and Flyin' Miata will have more people to sell wheels and suspension to. Time will tell which powertrain is more desirable. I keep hearing about a 240hp 124 Abarth which will be the motor to drool over at least initially if it does indeed surface. I am not sure how that will change as the market develops turbos for the SkyActive motor for the Miata.
I am pleased either way.
