14psi on stock injectors, eh?

I'm trying NOT to blow a motor up again.
Could have fooled me.

Read up. I assume you have the tan-top 265cc injectors, which according to my quick reversal of the formulae on that page tells me those are good for a whopping 146.83982684 hp, which you are almost certainly over at 14psi. Unless you have turned up the pressure on your fueling system, which would be a little silly since you have a full standalone.

I'm sure some smartasses out there can think of a few things it's ok to run 100% capacity on. lets hear it. what's ok to run @ 100% capacity or more?... My first answer to that question is definitely injectors.

I have an 04 MSM engine. which came with 7-8psi stock at factory rating of 180hp? The logic here is perplexing.

Running at 148%+ injecto duty cycle is fine right? :P

The stock Mazdaspeed turbo is also smaller than the GT2560R the FM2 kit comes with (that you alluded about in an earlier post). I'd guesstimate the Garret flows more at 4-5psi than the Mazdaspeed unit does at 7, and almost certainly more at 14psi.
You haven't specified what turbo you're using though, so I guess it could be anything.

Why you'd go to the trouble of swapping an engine in, installing some kind of turbo kit, setting up a Megasquirt, and then running stock injectors seems odd to me though.

Ahh, I suppose the details would of been nice huh? haha my bad.
Stock 04 mazdaspeed miata engine with full FM intake, previous owned "uped" the boost with the manual boost controller that came with the FM intake kit. I certainly didn't think it was bumped up this much though!

Going to go turn down the MBC, hopefully my buddy with get back with me about his 440cc injectors. Maybe this weekend I'll wire up my EBC to my MS.

440cc is good for 280-320 hp from what I've read? I know I've seen a lot of people use 550cc. Even with the higher power output builds they use 1000cc.

150$ for 440cc injectors is a good pretty good deal tho?

Check the classified section, but I think rx7 injectors (which I assume those are) go for more like half that. But I would go for an RX8 injector at minimum, as they use the newer (but still old) EV6 design. But EV14 ones would be best. If I were you I wouldn't go past stock boost until I installed new injectors, and I wouldn't buy new injectors without doing some research.

They are brand new RC 440cc's Direct plug and play high impedance. I like knowing that someone else didn't use them and is trying to rip me off.

I looked up on RC's website for them new: about $350 worth.

460cc injectors are good for 220-230whp at a maximum safe duty cycle if you are using 43psi of fuel rail pressure plus manifold reference pressure. IDK what they will support with the NB's non-referenced fuel pressure of sixty-something psi at the rail. There happen to be online calculators available for this very purpose, though.

I read that they are good for 300.
I'm not sure what pressure the walboro 255 puts out either

Doubt they'll hit 300 on stock pressure. but past 250 you should be getting better injectors than ev1 anyway

Yeah, I dunno what fuel pressures the hp255s put out at that demand. Here's a chart tho.

And Thank you, eventually I'll be getting EFR turbo setup going on and by then ill be putting ID1000 injectors in

I guess I just don't understand why you even bought the RCs in the first place then. For $150 more you could have had more than double the injector, and a newer tech, and more closely flow-matched.

Hell for $10 more than the RCs you could have 775cc FIC EV14s.

I wasn't planning on building up the motor then. and they are cheap. (I got the RCs for 100$ from a buddy with an 04 msm) so it's more like IDs for 300+ more
But yes now that I'm building the engine using these RCs is poop. but I still have the shitty MSM turbo so outlook get me to where I need to be I suppose.

I'll sell them to some Honda kid when I'm done I guess :P

Doh, I read back over the $350 and thought "Gee that's dumb, why would anyone do that". I forgot you got them from a friend for cheap.
