could it be oil dripping out from the rear main and making its way down the fork onto the boot? i have some leakage in taht area and that is my guess. im not concerned because i am going to replace when i do the clutch.

That seems to be what m.net thinks too. I cant find any info on the rear main seal at all.

So had a bit of a stop and go drive in traffic, and my temp was all the way up. The car has never ever overheated on me before. Drive home was less traffic. Soon as I slowed to drive through my neighborhood the temp went right back up. Coolant overflow tank is empty.
