Default seafoam!

ok so in my 91 i was able to just pull the hose off the brake booster and suck it up there but im trying to clean out the 92 and when i pull the hose off it dies.. so i had a friend give it a tad bit of gas to keep it from dying. it sucked up a tad bit then it died.. the we restarted the car and instantly it sounds like knock..

is there something i did wrong?

I do not think I have seen a single thread saying seafoam is great, only issues.

You probably sucked up too much, hydrolocked, and bent a rod. The brake booster line is way too big. It could literally empty that entire can in a second if you motor is spinning fast enough.

In that case, I have no idea. I can't think of anything else that would cause your car to stall and then suddenly start knocking.

If the oil was on the outside of the plug fix the leaking cam cover gasket first.

knock happens at start up. then goes away.. but comes back in small bursts when i rev the engine and the shifter shakes violently..

Are you sure its knock? Or is it the common valve tick we get sometimes? I would get ticking upon start up and occasionally during revs. Once I did the 2twisty flush its been good to go ever since, and that was when I first bought the car years ago.

Sounds like the lifters if it goes away right after startup, good call Vash.

OP - next time use a much smaller line. Trying to seafoam (much less keep the engine running) by going through the brake booster would be like drinking a coke with a toilet paper tube as a straw.

Probably more effective to put a few teaspoons down the plug holes (warm engine), let sit for 20mins, then start and rev.

ive used the brake booster on my 91 with no problems many times.. i never stick the hose into the seafoam. just above it so that the sucking slowly pulls the water up to it

Nope... I still think you need to do the tdc test. See if all 4 of your pistons come up to the same height.
