Should I sell my 1999 10th Anniversary because my Union told me too?
You're going to receive negative comments if you drive a miata to a construction site.
I tend to not drive my nice cars to a construction site in favor of taking a beater. I'm going to be less upset if the beater gets mud on it, or concrete dust splashed on it, or a nail in a tire, etc etc. Nasty things happen on job sites.

But seriously, when I was working construction I drove my beater Nissan Hardbody, when I HAD to drive the Miata, I parked about a mile and a half a way and hiked to the site, was not worth the risks.

Any government decrees that reduce economic freedom or otherwise infringe on individuals from entering voluntary contracts is harmful to the economy.
e.g. gov't union protectionism that prevents scabs from taking jobs during a strike
e.g. Corporatist laws which protect the big players and erect barriers to new startup competition
Whenever gov't passes an economic interventionist law to "protect x, for the common good", be afraid. In reality they are protecting x, at the expense of everyone else! (e.g. the Mother of All Bailouts, which protect the largest banks).

When you're bothered by pedantic idiots talking ****, just go along with it, as far as it can possibly go. So, if he's saying you're a disgrace to the union, start wearing shirts with other country's flags on it. Basically do as many un-american things around him as possible. You should also carry the Miata "gay" image as far as possible. Come in blasting Village People, and other classics such as It's Raining Men. Hopefully he'll have an aneurysm on the job, and you'll get promoted.

I've gotten comments like this at work (from people with total pos cars). It's funny that some Canadians see any particular make as domestic as there are no Canadian owned car makes (sole here, Opel now being Canadian owned).
I have been called a *** by two guys on a Harley while out for a drive with my wife, figure that one out.
I've heard it so many times but I'm thinking it must be true that those that hate on you for what you have are either jealous of your possession of said item or that it makes you happy.
