size/pitch of tail light flange nuts?

Default size/pitch of tail light flange nuts?
I'm laid up in bed recovering from surgery, and I can't scratch this one itch that's been driving me nuts so to speak...

Does anyone know the size & pitch of the tail light assy/ rear trim panel flange nuts? PN# 99940-0503. Much to my surprise, they're smaller than M6x1.

It's going to be M6x1.0 or M8x1.25.

M6. However, the tail light nuts are M5 with 10mm heads.

Ah! OK. I remember trying to put a M6x1 on it, and its definitely smaller. So... M5 fine thread is typically .8 pitch, right?
