Damn it, I let my Optima red top drain (I think). I need to get it on a charger ASAP. Hopefully Auto Zone will be good about letting me return it if it is dead.

Aren't most AGM batteries like that? IIRC you should never let such AGM fully drain.

Yep, bad idea for I believe just about any lead-acid battery, AGM or not. AGM does not change the chemistry, it just improves the performance. The fact I did it at all is stupid; I don't mean to imply that I should have not done it since I have an Optima.

The original Miata AGM batteries could sit dead for quite some time and be brought back to life with a trickle charge over night. Did it many times on both my NAs as I stored the cars for 4-5 months and was too lazy to disconnect them.
