There are places that make custom beefier aftermarket stuff. Pretty pricy though last time I checked.

A complete 8.8 rear with DSS axles will only set me back $4K plus shipping and taxes. Yeah, right.

I run Mickey Thompson drag radials on my car with MSM diff/axles, launch at 5,100 RPMs on a prepped track with a very hot supercharged setup making about 300wtq. Have wheel hopped the car a few times, cut 1.7 60' times on it. Haven't broke a diff or axle yet.

Some info you may have already seen:

That is a standard Miata inner CV joint & axle on the top, MSM on the bottom. On the CV joint, the seal area is the same, everything past there to the splined end is a larger diameter on the MSM CV joint. As I recall, 28mm vs 30mm.

Bigger axles. More aftermarket support. There are a lot more high power s2ks than miatas. And there are a lot aftermarket parts for it.

I know I found references on m.net. but some people are better at exploring things than others

And reverant might have better access to an s2k diff than a Ford diff. And if you can bolt the carrier into a Miata case and stick some thicker axles in. Profit?

Yup, lots and lots of S2K parts going around, but no Ford 8.8s. All the Fords over here are of the small, FWD variety.

The S2k diff is the same as the MSM diff.

Ya'll are missing my point. I'm not saying that the S2k diff may be any better than the MSM diff, but it is another option. And built s2k diffs are a lot more common than built miata diffs. Just something to explore. Especially if s2k diffs are more common in Greece than MSM diffs.

2 years of MSM, 10 years of s2k.

FYI, got these from advanced auto. Brand new, includes ABS ring and axle nut.

The MSM was never available in Europe.

So the s2k might actually be useful to you.

Sounds like an s2k carrier will bolt right in. Getting axles might be a little harder.

Or any aftermarket S2K LSD will drop right into any 1.8 carrier too. So you'd just order your Mfactory LSD or whatever brand that isnt staffed by morons who dont understand basic physics, like how sway bars work (******* John Ludgod at OSG I'm glaring at you), in s2k fitment and run MSM axles that you'll probably have to order from mazda.

Would an S2k inner CV joint mesh up with an NB axle?

I doubt it, and even if it did, why? The big part of using the MSM axles is all the stuff that isnt the splined part of the inner, its the inner joint itself being a totally different style and the larger diameter shaft.
