I would argue that was the C7 -- both inside and out.

I’ll weigh in for a moment. They (turbo Miata vs C6Z) are just different kinds of fun but both a blast to drive. The Miata at WOT and boost turned to 24 is hair-raising whereas I can cruise 160+ in the C6Z and not even ponder. My son and I haven’t yet ran them side-by-side but will be doing that soon. He got a $1000 offer on Wednesday to race the Miata against a stock automatic C6. Since we get to pick the race format, we’ll be “experimenting” with the different street races (20-100 mph, 1/2 mile, etc). I’m doubtful the guy will come run an AX.

Now that is quite the race you have coming up. Looks like fastest time for a LS3 Auto 1/4 is....
11.806 @ 118.82 - Gmrulz - 08 A6 Z51, NPP - (3478)

That is pretty dang fast and if guy is putting up that $ you have to figure he's got some tricks. But if your roll racing, I just can't see how he could win unless speeds were over 120mph. Weather is all rain this week, but if you want to prep you could roll race my M6 C6 for free just to prep on what your looking at. I wish I had a clone of myself because I've been dying to race my 250hp Miata vs 400*hp Vette.

I'll weigh in as well. I've owned a regular C5, a C5 Z06, almost 10 miatas, and a LS swapped FD RX7. I loved the Z06 but completely agree with most statements mentioned above, the limit is so high that it's not exactly fun on the street. The RX7 was a ton of fun and almost the middle road of the C5 Z06 and a Miata, and in my opinion better looking than both. The problem with it is it's almost too rare to enjoy and parts are mostly only available used and are super expensive. I say all of this to say, I currently have an extremely nice NA Miata that I'm building and all those previous cars were sold. It really is hard to compete with the experience of a well built Miata. It will never be as fast as an equally built Corvette (let's ignore the $$$ aspect) but that's not what it's always about for people here on this forum. I'll also probably add another Corvette to accompany the Miata at some point just to have fun experiencing both.
