Default Knew it was going to happen ... (lost clutch slave going to work today)

It's been leaking for a while now (really slowly) but I havn't had time to replace it and it goes when I'm having the first amusing drive into work in a long time (commute 45mi to work). A very unassuming (3 or more body style back) integra decided to play (need to get my cam back in the car) - turned out to be a fast car (nice sleeper) and on upshit to 6th (we're both going uphill on a 8 lane hwy) I lost the slave completely... lame - rev matched and got 4th and made it to work (not one stoplight!). Rented a trailer and towed it home - much fun getting it on the trailer with the starter.. (it would have cost 2x to flatbed it). So yeah leaking slave = replace it (cheap/easy part to cause so much bs).

i had it go out in my 240 on the way out shopping once and had to slow down about 1/2 mile before a light so it would change before i got there. Didn't get so lucky with the 4-way stop though, fortunately i can start in 2nd and get home in 2nd At least the slave is an easy $15 part from autozone to replace

Why trailer? You don't really need a clutch to drive.

Start it at half throttle in 1st, shift slowly but firmly, revmatch your downshifts. You don't need the clutch to drive.

I drove mine home from a gas station when my master went out. Wasn't fun but you sure keep your eye out when it comes to keeping up those rolling stops.

Its supposed to be nice today, so I walked to the garage, and after the fucked up pedal ****, I noticed that both the brake and clutch masters were empty. What is that about?

no one else drive your cars today!!!!!

I made this trip with a clutch that would not disengage from Hallett (Tulsa) to Dallas.

I can drive w/o clutch too but yeah thats a lot of stop lights on the way home and usually stop/go traffic - I'd hit at least 10 lights. Xede doesn't like being choked out either (leaves engine rich) so you'd have to start in neutral after stopping to clear out excess fuel then shut it down, put it in gear and start it again at every light - this is 45 mi of driving too. If I was closer to home maybe but at work (in Scarry - err Cary NC think pric yuppieville) there's an assload of lights on the way back (only one light comming in from the hwy but getting back to the hwy sucks especially in traffic up a steep hill). Besides it was fun to make ppl that drive SUVs like sports cars here get the f outta the way when I merged :-)

Lol yeah - so on that front he was kinda stalking me for 5 or so miles and then out of the blue takes off - this is when I said f/it and went after him, was overtaking him up the hill ~115 and just after I passed he immediately jumped two lanes over and hit an exit - thats right when my slave cyl puked. I don't usually play like that but the road was clear so why not ? His car was fast - odd thing tho I couldn't hear his exhaust at all.. ? Was fun anyway :-) I've been GAP and fast deprived due to suck traffic and cops this year - there's a HWY patrol station right off one of the exits I pass daily and they've always got some one pulled since they hired like 100 more officers in NC. Lots of unmarked chargers (chargers are so popular it's a bitch to tell who's a cop and who's not) and impalas. Popo chargers have dual ex on the back tho - but its not Hemi
