Thanks Brain, if the welded diff sucks and I can't find a clutch type for cheap, I'll let you know. I'm thinking I'm gonna like this though, as I would overly enjoy knowing I have both tires to work with at all times.

Not a spool but i know my rx7 has some pretty tight lock up and it has made the car alot more tail happy in corners. Of course this is comming from a vicius lsd. Still tough i like to be able to accelerate in turns instead of just caost. A rx7 clutch pack etc is the real way to go about this i never rebuilt mine or measured the lockup for real but it takes a good bit to get it to slip, and it locks very quickly.

It had wide tires, depowered steering, and a welded differential. Any one would have been good as stock. Any two would have been manageable. All three was no fun. Sold the car shortly thereafter.

Well, I do have power steering. I don't thinkg I would want to swap diffs out just for the track. I go maybe 10 times a season, so that would get old. If the welded diff does suck, I'll look into getting an RX-7 diff.
