who makes the longest lasting replacement battery?
+1 Optima Red top and some KY to get it in... When my timing belt slipped and car was being diag'd we must have tested and hit the starter at least 100 times - battery held charge entire time.. Good time to add a battery quick disconnect too.
duralast gold in the trunk. works fine i guess
car always starts, no complaints

It used to be that mazda didn't sell the AGM battery (what comes with the car at the dealership) - not sure if this has changed but extra cranking power/longevity never hurts. Although my stock battery did last 7 yrs !
They don't sell the Panny AGM anymore. Now they have a flooded cell. Which, in reality, is probably going to be fine. People act like the trunk is going to explode or something if a battery vents a little in it.
I had a non-sealed battery in my Miata for years with out any problems. It was vented via a little hose going to the bottom of the trunk. It was branded Mazda and came from a dealer.
I now have a sealed battery from the local battery recycler. All is good.

i have a oem honda civic batter (my cousin was a civic guy when i sold it to him), and have run it dead 6-7 times thanks to shitty autozone alternator belts and damn running lights

leave a tender on it, or take the battery in the house and put it on a tender. they're like $15 at walmart.
