Exhilarating Performance
Ultra-high R.P.M. and 5-bar boost capable with tip in response that will bring a smile to your face. This ignition system is able to light nearly any mixture that's in the chamber, and because of this there are no more misfires or poor burning mixtures. With a literal lightning bolt in your chamber every single ignition sequence and hammer of the piston will make your crank beg for mercy. Just for comparison the stock system outputs about 50mJ of energy at the plug with a spark duration of 0.5 microseconds. The WeaponX coils we specially integrated into our system output 300% that amount of energy and do it over 240% the spark duration of the stock coils. It is like hooking 3 of the stock coils up together and lighting them all off at once. Beyond this with up to 60,000 volts on tap spark breakdown is absolutely not a problem. No more tiny gaps and misfires. Open up your sparkplug gaps on those high horsepower nitro-methane injected, turbocharged, and supercharged engines for more power, better track times, and fewer trips to pits for fuel.


Plug and Play Installation
The installation is a snap with this system. Remove the spark plugs and the coil pack connectors. Plug the OEM connectors into the ignition control unit and put the WeaponX coils down onto the spark plug. The WeaponX coils engage in three locations. One is the valve cover itself using the grippers on the side. The next is the copper contact at the bottom which tightly wraps the electrode for a strong connection and a more rigid placement. Lastly a rubber piece which covers the electrical connection engages the spark plug insulator. With these three connection places the coils are solidly mounted and ready for all the g's, bumps, and wheel hop you can throw at them. On top of this great way to connect your coil to the sparkplug it makes the installation look factory. There is no "mounting plate" because we searched until we found a coil that fits the Miata valve cover perfectly. The finish looks O.E.M., even though the power you unleash won't be.</p>

I've pm'd you a few times Travis about this working with my 1.8 in a 1990, 1.6 harness/1.8 motor.

This will jive correct? Might want to add that to the details as a few ppl have 90's with 1.8's.

Yea that is correct. Select the harness based on what year harness you are using. If your using the 89-93 harness then that is the year you want. If you using the 1.8L harness then that is the year you want. The COP system doesn't care what motor its firing into it just needs to be able to hook up.

Final product uses mil-spec heat shrink wrap. We don't need more shielding then that as its just 1.6 amps at 12 volts thats going down the wires. Your headlights draw more power then that. This system gets rid of all the high voltage interference like sparkplug wires give off. Also the wires themselves are teflon coated and silver tinned. The exact same thing used in avionics and will easily outlast the life of the vehicle. The shrinkwrap is really for looks.

One more question: what is holding the COPS down in their hole? Is mounting hardware included? Do you have an as-installed pic?

It doesn't need any mounting hardware. It has grippers just like the OEM sparkplug does. So when it is pushed down into the hole it grips on the valve cover. The copper connector that it engages also clamps very tightly to the spark plug electrode. On top of these there is an extra rubber piece which clamps around the spark plug insulator just below the electrode. With those three engagement points there is no more hardware required. I don't have an installed pic with the new coils. I probably won't have one until just before the pre-orders go out as the kit I'm using now is a piecemeal kit we use for abusing and modifying on the fly.

Yea July 1st! We might have them before that too, we'll have to see.

I'll let you guys know what you need to do to run these on aftermarket ECU's. You just have to change your dwell settings to 4ms all the way across the voltage band, the controller takes care of all of that, but I'll have documentation on it.

Doubtful. What about heat? Send a set my way and I'll install them and melt the wiring for you, then I'll send it back so you can re-think that.

How do you figure? 1.6ampsx12volts = 19.2 watts, not a lot of power.

Who cares how much power is going through there.... get them on a car that is ABUSED on track and you will see what I mean.

Edit: It may be possible that the heat shrink he is using will hold up, but I see no mention of this, only the amount of power going through the wires which is not a concern compared to under hood temperature and valve cover temperature.

OEMs use fat shielding for a reason:

OTOH, my injectors are on skinny ass wires and hold up more track abuse than my manifold studs so far...
