They basically just make it so the game is rendered at 1080p instead, so you get a lot more clarity out of the old textures and models.
The problem with FFVII and other PS1 games is that the textures and models look like this:
Yet at the same time there are people that dont want them to change anything about the game and may not want the character models to look different, maybe just re-textured.
Personally, I would love to just see the original pre-rendered backgrounds re-rendered at a higher resolution. It would make a huge difference and shouldnt be terribly difficult assuming the old files were not lost.
The game had some beautiful scenery, even if it was just a pre-rendered 2d image the characters walked around on top of.

I sympathize with your plight. In fact, the missus and I are presently separated by a distance of over 100 miles, and we see each other mostly on weekends. Despite this, the idea of referring to a game of Call of Duty as a "date" would never have crossed my mind. A "date" is when she runs her slender fingers through your thick, unruly hair as you exchange bodily fluids through more than one orifice simultaneously.

The engineer part more evident when you consider that the android phone requires a 14 step process to be able to take a screenshot. I took the more efficient way out and just took a picture with an iphone.
