I live here but I'm not from here. I'm still trying to figure out if it is the crappy public school system here. Or is it just that all of the people who can't make it anywhere else in the country come here for a new start and still do the same stupid crap that made them losers back home? Or maybe that much of the state has a very high percentage of adults employed in service industry or construction jobs? I do know that the white collar jobs are concentrated in certain geographical areas of the state and many of those businesses have only arrived in decent numbers in the last 15 years due to tax incentives.
Nice shot of the spoonbill. I never seem to get good shots of them.
I haven't noticed a higher amount of idiots in FL than anywhere else. I think our reporters just want to capitalize on the theme they started. The cases we've had haven't even been anything unusual, yet they get national, even world, coverage. I mean, you can't find another case in a different state where some Hispanic guy killed a black kid or a woman killed her baby? Somehow I doubt that. I mean, most of the TV shows about real life strange killings happened in states other than FL.
What about that woman that cut a fetus out of another woman in CO? That was pretty cray cray. It's everywhere; it just depends on who's reporting what.

You've got the crackers, the Parrotheads, the elderly poor, the trailer trash, the People of Walmart, the Democratic Republic of Miami, the wannabe rednecks, the real rednecks (the norther you go, the souther it gets), the meth-heads, the Tampons, the snowbirds, the Section 8s, the drug kingpins, the folks who just seem to have failed at life in general and wound up in Florida for no apparently obvious reason other than gravity, and that one elderly woman who still hasn't figured out that the incompetent person behind the counter doesn't care how much better the service was back in Poughkeepsie in the 1950s and just wants to stop being screamed at.
They also have surprisingly racist postcards.

That pic was taken a few blocks from my house here in downtown Orlando. I've never seen that car before though.
I was just out running some errands, and happened to drive right past that spot. I also took this picture very close by of an NA with a sweet fade paint job and chrome rimz.]

I grew up in Florida from the same age as Joe, oddly enough. I escaped, though, like asap
Bithlo, Chileota, and Oviedo were my stomping grounds, but before I left I managed to branch out quite a bit, all through sanford, lake mary, altamonte...
Can confirm, all sorts of crazy each segregated to their own little suburb, all within a few miles of each other. Bike rides are amazing there
