Holy cow that's a lot of sound for such a tiny interior. I bet it hits hard.

I wish I could find the motivation to figure out digital tuning. Since the levels at amazon music are all over the place, I'm constantly adjusting the sound with this pot-type EQ. I gave up on chinese head units and just use a bluetooth receiver straight to this, then to the amps.

It's really not hard, it's just crazy time consuming.

you need to measure each speaker without any EQ, to see how it performs or doesn't perform. My cabin is tiny and the mid-basses and mids point directly at each other so there's so crazy cancellations.

Based on that you can kinda figure out where to cross everything over at.

Here's what my factory Bose woofers looked like without any EQ or XO whatsoever:

with the microphone in the exact same position, you can see, they don't output the same L/R. You can see the cancellation at 30Hz, then the R speaker is 40dB louder at 90Hz than the L when it drops out. 100-200 is okay, then the L is just louder from 200-through 700Hz.

So you have two goals here: 1. Get them to sound the same out of both channels, so both ears hear the same thing. 2. EQ to match your house curve trying to keep peaks and valley below 5dB swings.

so eventually I was able to tune them something like this:

So now both speakers sound "exactly" the same as each other, and output the same volume through their bandwidth, so you hear the music as intended by the artist.

Biggest issue I have is I'm using 4ohm speakers on a pretty weak amp, so It was hard to compromise on how to tune, typically you always want to cut and never boost frequencies, but if I cut too much, then I can't turn the volume up loud enough anymore. I last that above chart I had to redo because that's exactly what happened. I did a great job EQing it, but then the woofers couldn't output levels to keep up with the rest of the speakers and I had to redo it.

but really just imagine an eq like you have on each speaker.

For those that don't know, Pookie passed on Aug 30th. He took a turn on Thursday, and by Friday night we knew it was time. He was on antibiotics last week, which he needed from a ******* infection in his eye socket (from his enucleation 10 months ago) - but they were too hard on his GI lymphoma. He stopped eating, we took him to vet Thursday night and they couldn’t do anything.

We are still pretty devastated right now, but he had been sick for 2 years (GI sickle cell lymphoma, hepatic lipidosis which required a feeding tube, diabetes induced from meds, signs of kidney failure, enucleation of the right eye most likely caused from a pain med, pancreatitis) and we knew his time was coming. He was just shy 13. I spent the last 2 years giving him meds twice a day. I would log daily his mood, food intake, poos, weight because we knew we would have to make this decision -- this was actually very helpful. But this huge routine and biggest part of my life is gone. Honestly, my wife dying or leaving me are probably the only worse things I can think of.

We also believe a pain med our vet pushed on him Solensia is a big cause of his downfall. Just after his second dose is when I started logging his eye issues. 5 months in, and we removed his eye. It wasn't until this April his ophthalmologist suggested taking him off it -- she said she was reading anecdotal correlations between Solensia and eye issues. Basically it blocks pain receptors in the nerves -- but Pookie did start sleeping with his eyes open, so I'm sure they were getting very unhealthy. As soon we stopped his injections, I notcied in my logs the amount of "bad day" or "eye bothering him" issues pretty much stopped being logged.

That drug led to his enucleation, which lead to his eye socket getting infected 10 months later, which lead to him needing antibiotics, which just fucked him up and ultimately he succumbed to all his issues. It was inevitable, but sooner than it needed to be.

This is the first time in 23 years, that we have zero cats.

Pookie had met all 6 others. And they all were absolutely obsessed with him (expect belle).

And of course we did too...

I'm so sorry for your loss of Pookie.

We have saved, loved, and then eventually said goodbye to many sweet kitties over the years. It doesn't get easier but I wouldn't even consider missing out on one of those experiences. You have my sympathy.

Our most recent loss was Milly. She was so soft.

On Sep 7, 1885, exactly 140 years ago today, Clint Eastwood rid Hill Valley of Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen and his gang.

Eastwood then robbed a train and crashed it into Shonash ravine.

His body was never found.
