I work in broadcasting. I live behind the curtain, but I ultimately control the button that determines whether Radio happens or not in most of the major markets in the US.
I've gotten wasted with George Clinton, met my childhood hero Erik Estrada, hung with Toad the Wet Sprocket, been insulted on the air by both Danny Bonaduce and Howard Stern, enjoyed a martini with Jerry Springer, gotten VIP access all over Hollywood with Ryan Seacrest, been kissed on the cheek by J. Lo's sister (who is hotter than J. Lo, BTW), been offered a more comfortable chair by Rush Limbaugh, have given up my seat at a jazz club in Chicago to Walter Cronkite, been given free family tickets to the maiden voyage of two cruise ships, and, in general, have schmoozed with most of the big names in both the LA and NY scenes.
So, with that as perspective, please understand the gravity of my words when I say that you have a cooler job than I do.

Or back in the real world/reality, they're using less RPM'sin an effort to reduce emissions & improve MPG, and in turn be able to meet emissions targets set by countries worldwide and therefore actually be able to sell their cars to people.
Unfortunately in this day and age high RPM engines are not the future.

I can't imagine the rush of standing there during takeoffs and landings, or of being on the Hawkeye during a carrier landing, esp at night. But does it ever get to be "just another day at the office" after a while? You know - "Ho hum. Time to launch the weapons."
