A+ for acting. I don't see why these retards don't slam on the brakes harder. The driver actually gets on the brakes before she makes contact while reversing, lol! This seems like a bad idea to attempt in a crowded area where there are obviously lots of witnesses around. Also, I'm actually looking into the most feasible way of running a dash cam, either via a phone mount or a cheap go pro.

I'm trying to imagine how I would react in a situation like that. Not only did they hit my ------- car, but then they are going to lie to my face and try to screw me. I'm not sure if my rage could be contained. It's like a combination of my two least favorite people, thieves and liars. And they have the nerve to do it in broad daylight, and right to my face.

Speaking of shitty drivers, have I ever mentioned that I hate cab drivers? I don't know about other cities, but here in Atlanta, they are all ********. So anyway, I'm heading home from work yesterday and as I approach a shopping center, a car pulls across my direction of travel making a left out of the complex. I lift off the throttle as a precaution. Not but 2 seconds later some fucking dirkadirka cabbie comes flying out of the same exit, also making a left but now I am much closer and have to slam on the brakes and pull to the right side of my lane (3 lanes in my direction and a car next to me). Because I am in the left lane, I am in the last lane this asshole has to clear and I barely miss him. Fuck these cabbies. After verifying there was no traffic coming in the opposing lanes, I drop to first gear and initiate a shift-lock to rotate my car arouynd in the r-lane (this is like 20ft after clearing the fucking taxi), get the car turned around and tear *** after him. As soon as I got close to him, he jams on the brakes and dives into the r-lane to avoid me. So I pass him, hit the brakes, dive into the r-lane in front of him and wait. He comes creeping up in the middle lane and right before he gets to me, he jumps into the far right lane...right as a van is passing him and almost hits the van. At this point, he floors the throttle in a feeble attempt to accelerate his POS Crown Vic thinking his 50rwhp might get him somewhere. Easy prey. So I jump behind him. Now he goes on the offensive and starts to try to lose me by making random turns and lane changes at the last minute. I spent about 10 minutes just following him around giving him threatening hand gestures. I really wanted to cut him off, get out of the car and spit in his face....I really really did....

These are the times I NEED a camera in the car. I really want to get a high capacity GoPro to stick on my dash..

I find it kinda hilarious that in both scam videos...the car that backs into them is actually I really nice ride....One being an acura and the other a BMW...

You'd think that those people wouldn't be the ones pulling the scams...

You wouldn't? I would. That's probably how they got the car #1, plus it probably helps their case when they hit someone in a mazda/nissan/honda/etc. They "appear" more sophisticated and educated NOT to do that type of thing.

When I was DD'ing the miata I would have the camera on probably 75% of the time. I'd just delete the video if there was nothing worth keeping. I mainly used it in preparation for getting pulled over for whatever the reason may be. Just loosen the **** and turn it toward the window as the cop comes up to the window. Go ahead sir, try and ---- with me today.

If I ever had someone suddenly slam on the brakes and THEN BACK INTO ME........god help them. Or should I say god help me, cause I'd probably get arrested for assault.

Based on my admittedly small sample size (three), I conclude that 100% of taxi drivers in Bremen, Germany are former WRC champions. And I don't mind this one bit.

They also drive Mercs that all seem to have between 200-300,000 kms on the odometer, yet are in far better shape than a week-old NYC cab.

On a related note, here is a bronze statue of a chicken standing on a cat standing on a dog standing on a mule, just outside a very old church:

If memory serves me right, Merc had a seperat assembly line for the Taxi-model, with some minor changes from the original car to make it just a little toughter. They don't anymore, btw.

I can believe that. I was really amazed by how quiet, firm and comfortable the taxis were, despite their age, even on cobblestone roads. One of them had a bit of transmission slippage when starting from a stop (this was always a drag launch, mind you) and its CEL was on, but no unusual engine or chassis noises, no squeaks or rattles from the interior, etc.

The drivers also seemed to have a much more professional attitude towards their cars. They were all uncluttered, organized, and meticulously clean both inside and out. In one, I spotted a box in the boot containing paper towels, glass gleaner, a windshield squeegee, and other cleaning products. You'd never see that sort of thing in the US.

It's so interesting when stereotypes turn out to be entirely accurate.
