on campus they used to have these boots that were like huge padlocks. needless to say, after they lost a couple of them after booting this mysterious red pick up truck, they switched to the traditional boots.

 

Funny how much dubstep has changed. I started listening to it on London pirate stations around 2005/2006. Then started going to hear it, on utterly massive dub soundsystems, mostly in a certain West Indian centre in Leeds.

At the time, it sounded exactly like this stuff in the vid below. Six years later and everything about the music and the culture around it has changed massively. Just, massively.

So if anyone is at all interested in what "original" Dubstep sounded like in the UK, see below. You'll need a sub, and even then, you'll have to imagine it with 80,000 watts behind it in a dark hall full of sweaty Rastas, with exactly zero girls anywhere in sight. Yay for dark sweaty Jamaican cockfests.
